OUR MISSION

Our Mission: VFW Post 12235 in Salado, Texas, is dedicated to honoring the service and sacrifice of America’s veterans by fostering camaraderie, advocating for their rights, and supporting their families. We strive to serve our community through outreach, education, and volunteer initiatives that uphold the values of patriotism, service, and remembrance. Guided by the VFW’s commitment that "No One Does More for Veterans,” we work to preserve the legacy of those who have served and inspire future generations to honor our nation’s heroes.

Our Vision: VFW Post 12235 envisions a thriving community where veterans are respected, supported, and empowered to lead fulfilling lives. We strive to be a cornerstone of service in Salado, fostering unity between veterans and civilians, inspiring patriotism in future generations, and ensuring that the sacrifices of our nation’s heroes are never forgotten.

As we gather this Veterans Day at the Veterans Memorial on Main Street in Salado, we pause to honor all those who have worn the uniform of our nation. Veterans Day is more than a date on the calendar — it is a moment to remember the courage, sacrifice, and commitment of the men and women who stood ready to defend our freedom, both at home and abroad.

Each name etched in stone and every flag that waves represents a story of service — of families who sacrificed, of communities that supported, and of a nation kept strong by those willing to answer the call. Whether on distant battlefields, in the skies, at sea, or here on American soil, our veterans have carried the ideals of liberty and duty with steadfast pride.

Today, as our community comes together at the Salado Veterans Memorial, let us recommit ourselves to preserving the values they fought to protect. Let us teach our children what it means to serve, to sacrifice, and to honor those who came before us.

On behalf of VFW Post 12235, thank you to all who have served, to the families who stood beside them, and to our community for your unwavering support.

We invite everyone to join us at the Veterans Memorial on Main Street for our Veterans Day Ceremony — a time of remembrance, respect, and gratitude for America’s heroes.
