OUR MISSION

Our Mission: VFW Post 12235 in Salado, Texas, is dedicated to honoring the service and sacrifice of America’s veterans by fostering camaraderie, advocating for their rights, and supporting their families. We strive to serve our community through outreach, education, and volunteer initiatives that uphold the values of patriotism, service, and remembrance. Guided by the VFW’s commitment that "No One Does More for Veterans,” we work to preserve the legacy of those who have served and inspire future generations to honor our nation’s heroes.

Our Vision: VFW Post 12235 envisions a thriving community where veterans are respected, supported, and empowered to lead fulfilling lives. We strive to be a cornerstone of service in Salado, fostering unity between veterans and civilians, inspiring patriotism in future generations, and ensuring that the sacrifices of our nation’s heroes are never forgotten.

On this upcoming Patriot Day, September 11th, we pause as a nation to honor the lives lost, the heroes who responded, and the resilience of the American spirit in the face of tragedy. Twenty-four years ago, our country was forever changed. Nearly 3,000 innocent people perished, families were torn apart, and countless lives were impacted—but from that dark day emerged a spirit of unity, courage, and sacrifice that still defines us.

For veterans and service members, the memory of September 11th carries deep meaning. Many of us answered the call to serve in the days and years that followed, standing guard to ensure that such attacks would never happen again. Today, we also remember our brothers and sisters in arms who gave their lives in the fight against terrorism and those who continue to bear the weight of that service.

As we gather here in Salado and across the nation, let us recommit ourselves to the values that were tested and proven true on that day: duty, honor, service, and love of country. May we never forget the innocent lives lost, the bravery of our first responders, and the enduring strength of America.

On behalf of VFW Post 12235, I invite you to join us in remembrance and reflection. Together, we honor the past, support one another in the present, and look forward to a future of continued resilience and unity.

We will never forget.
